A song rooted in tradition.
A journey towards harmony.
And now, a beautiful new milestone. 🙏
Colors of Peace (Saravana Bava Nidhi) is officially on the ballot for consideration in the Global Music Performance category.
Rooted in the timeless poetry of Arunagiri Nathar’s Thiruppugazh, with the musical composition attributed to Guru Shri A. S. Raghavan, Colors of Peace brings together four distinct musical voices:
Mahalakshmi Krishnan — expressive vocals
Prassanna — composition, vocals & production
Grammy Award Winner V. Selvaganesh — rhythm & percussion
Abhay Nayampally — Carnatic classical electric guitars
The recording approaches tradition as living music — allowing voice, rhythm, harmony and contemporary instrumentation to meet, converse and create something deeply rooted yet beautifully of the present.
At its heart, Colors of Peace has always been about connection — between traditions, generations, musical worlds and people.
To see this offering now reach the Global Music Performance ballot makes the journey even more meaningful.
A song rooted in tradition.
A musical journey towards harmony.
A call for peace — now on a global stage.
We’re grateful to everyone who has listened, shared and carried this music forward.

Truly humbled to receive the 2025 Kala Brahma Award from Kalalaya Productions in recognition of my contributions to the performing arts.
It was a memorable evening in Austin, surrounded by artists who continue to inspire and celebrate the beauty of music, dance, and creativity.
Heartfelt thanks to the organizers at Kalalaya Productions for this recognition, and to my family, students, and well-wishers for your constant love and support.
What an extraordinary privilege it was to perform in a special tribute concert for the incomparable tabla maestro, Ustad Zakir Hussain ji. I had the incredible opportunity to share the stage with a stellar band of legendary musicians, all of whom have collaborated closely with him throughout their careers.
A heartfelt thank you to the Society for Indo-American Arts and the visionary Hari Dayal ji. Their leadership consistently brings breathtaking productions to iconic venues, and I am profoundly honored to have contributed to one of their remarkable events.
To my amazing cheering squad: your support and enthusiasm made an already special night even more memorable. Thank you for always lifting my spirits!
Words can barely express my gratitude for this soul-stirring evening. The entire band—a collective of absolute musical geniuses—were incredibly supportive and humble, making the experience even more enriching. This profound experience will forever be etched in my memory.
